No drastic changes for Rossies

Roscommon manager Kevin McStay is adamant that there will no great change in their tactics for the remainder of the Super 8's.

The Rossies suffered a hammering at the hands of Tyrone in the opening round of the new format at GAA headquarters last Saturday afternoon.

Much has been made of the open style of play that Roscommon approach the game with, and while it is good to watch as we seen in the clash against Armagh a week earlier, they were out of their depth against Tyrone.

This weekend, they face another Ulster side in the shape of Donegal, but McStay told the Roscommon Herald that it would be madness to try and change their style at this stage in the campaign.

"That's the way we play, which is easy to play against," said McStay. "I'm not sure the Roscommon supporters would go and watch if we changed our style dramatically and if we started looking at a Galway model - whether our supporters would want that, whether our players would want that type of a game. That's a discussion we're going to have to have."

He added: "We have to see have we the type of player physically and athletically can we change our game and the style we play? They're all big questions and they're not going to be answered in the next two or three weeks. And it's a question we all knew somewhere down the road that we were going to have to ask ourselves and answer."
