Feile.
Congratulations to St Manchan Gaels under 14 footballers who have qualified for Feile Peile na nOg. The team played against Clara and Tullamore in Clara on Saturday and as a result of those matches were placed in Division 3. The semi finals and final were played in the Faithful Fields on Sunday. In the semi final St Manchan Gaels had a convincing 4—13 to 1—3 victory over Na Fianna. The final was a closer contest against St Vincents and in the end St Manchan Gaels succeeded on a score of 1—7 to 0—6. This year the players and mentors will be hosted in Enniscrone, County Sligo.
Denise Casey.
Congratulations to local Milliner, Denise Casey, Leamonaghan on the wonderful achievement of having her Hat creations represent Ireland and on display among the best in the world at London Hat Week.
Division 2 Football League.
Ballycumber are due to start this year’s league campaign with a game against Durrow in Durrow on Friday evening at 7pm. The game may be moved to Saturday.
The next game is against Raheen and will be played on Thursday 18th April in Ballycumber.
Ballycumber Dance Class.
Learn how to Jive, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Line dance. Dance Classes every Monday night from 8pm in Ballycumber Community Centre. Beginners class 8 - 9, Improvers from 9 - 10 and dancing for all from 10 - 11pm. Great exercise and good fun, no partners required.
Hurling.
Brosna Gaels just missed out on recording their second win in the years Intermediate Hurling Championship when they lost to Clara by the minimum margin 1—11 to 0—13 on Sunday.
Lotto.
The numbers drawn this week were 1,17,27,28. No jackpot winner, one match three winner. Next week’s draw will be held in Flynn’s of Grogan on Monday night at 10 o’clock for a jackpot of 15750euros.
