The numbers drawn in the Lotto draw which took place on Monday 27 August 2018 were 11 18 27 30. There was No Jackpot Winner of €5,400 and 3 Match 3 Winners ( Nan Hill C/O Grennan's; Graham Cahill C/O Hamilton's; Anne O'Connor C/O Geashill Shop). Next week's draw will take place in Direen's, Cloneygowan on Monday 10 Sept 2018.

 

SENIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RD 7

Raheen Senior Footballers who were already through to the Senior B Championship Quarter Final lost out to Shamrocks in Rd 7 and the Final Rd of the Group Stage of the Championship last Thursday evening in Ballinamere on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-09. Raheen qualify for the Quarter Finals in 6th place in the group where they will face Tubber who finished in 3rd place in the group. Raheen opened the scoring with the first 2 points inside the first 5 mins but by the 20th min Shamrocks were up and running as they registered 7 points to Raheen's 2. Raheen responded with 2 points to cut the defecit to just a single point before taking the lead on 27 mins when Mark Gorman's high ball in was caught by Liam Gorman on the edge of the square and he chipped the keeper with the ball to the top right corner of the net for the goal. This is how it remained at the break as Raheen led 1-6 to 0-07. Almost straight from the re-start Shamrocks struck for their goal to re-take the lead. A brace of points for both sides by the mid-point of the half saw the lead exchanged twice before Shamrocks clinched it with 4 points in the final 10 mins to Raheen's 1.

U15 A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Na Fianna U15 Football No 1 Team kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the Quarter Finals of the A Championship as they put in their best performance of the year to pull the game out of the fire by securing a draw against Ferbane/ Belmont with a stoppage time goal in the Final Rd of the Green Group of the Championship last Monday week in Ferbane on a scoreline of 2-08 (Na Fianna) to 1-11 and Na Fianna  can count themselves unlucky not to have won. The result means Na Fianna and Ferbane / Belmont must meet again in a Playoff in a neutral venue to decide 3rd place in the group and the final Quarter Final spot. Ferbane got themselves off to their fine start as the led by 1-02 to Nil early on but by halftime Na Fianna were up and running and had cut the deficit as Ferbane now led by just 1-05 to 0-05. Throughout the second half Na Fianna kept Ferbane within sight and deep in stoppage time Ferbane still led by 2 points when Na Fianna  were awarded a penalty which Geordi O'Meara stepped up to take and he blasted it past the keeper for the goal which put Na Fianna in front for the first time and just when it looked like Na Fianna would get the win Ferbane got a free which they slotted over with the last kick of the game to equalise.

U17 (Minor) A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Na Fianna Minor Footballers No 1 Team picked up their first win of the Championship against Edenderry in Edenderry in the final round of the group stage last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of 1-09 to 1-07. Edenderry hit the ground running from the off as they burst into an early lead of 1-02 to No score but then Na Fianna settled and by halftime there was just the 2 points in it as Edenderry lead by 1-03 to 0-04. An goal for Na Fianna early in the second half from team captain Glen Hassett edged Na Fianna in front for the first time and they didn't look back as they held on to claim the win.

U15 A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF 

Na Fianna U15 Footballers No 1 Team take on Ferbane / Belmont this Friday evening (07 Sept) @ 6:15pm in Venue TBC in the Championship Play Off with the Winners securing third place in the group and qualifying for the Quarter Finals while the losers bow out of the Championship.
