The St Brigid's GAA club have launched an appeal on the loss of points from their failure to field in the IFC last weekend.

St Brigid's were due to play Ferbane last Thursday but the club had requested that they not be scheduled for this round of games.

According to reports, they were short a number of players, while they were also scheduled to play Doon this week.

St Brigid's are one of the favourites for the Offaly intermediate title, but if they loss the appeal, they will face an uphill struggle to qualify for the knockout stages.
