U9 Football Blitz

Our u9 footballers played a blitz in Durrow last Saturday morning. We played against Ballinamere/Durrow, Shamrocks and Ferbane and had over 40 players in attendance. All the matches were played in great spirit and all our footballers hard work in training is clear to see.

U13 Football

Tullamore 6:11 Ferbane/Belmont 2.05

Tullamore under 13s continued their winning ways with a convincing win over ferbane . Much tougher tests lies ahead for this group but they worked their socks off last Friday night and the hard work paid off with a good win. Seán Kavanagh was top scorer with 4 goals. The win just  about guarantees a quarter final spot before their last group game vs Rhode In a couple of weeks. Keep at it lads.

U15 Footballers

Our under 15 footballers played their first game in the championship last Friday and have a comfortable win over Ballinamere/ Durrow on a score line of 2:12 to 2:03.

Intermediate Footballers

Hard luck to our Intermediate footballers who were defeated by a strong Shannonbridge side in Round 3 if the championship on Saturday evening in Kilcormac. The Bridge' were quickest to get out of the traps and raced into a 1-6 to no score lead after 10 mins before the returning Johnny Kavanagh got Tullamore off the mark with two fine scores. Tullamore started to play some much better football but just couldn't find the target to eat into Shannonbridges lead as much as they could have throughout the half.

Things were a lot more even in the second half, but some solid defending on both ends of the park kept the scoring down, as Tullamore slowly clawed their way back Shannonbridge rattled the net for their second goal to leave 9 points between the sides inside the last 10minutes. Substitute Diarmuid Egan got s consolation goal for the Blues in injury time but it just wasn't enough as Shannonbridge took the points on a 2-15 to 1-12 score line.

We now just have a few days to pick ourselves up as we face Diangean on Wednesday night coming at 7.30 in Walsh Island.

Team: Eoin Griffin; Eoghan Geoghegan, Patrick Fahey, Shane Enright; Dylen Hensey (0-1), John Hickey, Seamus Allen; Damien English, Adam Shelly; Luke Plunkett (0-1), Kevin Williamson (0-1), Shane Martin (0-1); Gary Leavy (0-1), Mickey Hoey (captain), Johnny Kavanagh (0-5).
