Byrne keen to look forward

May 25, 2018

Tony Leavy RIP.

Offaly chairman Tommy Byrne has stressed to the county's followers that now is the time to look forward and not back.

An interim management team has been put in place following Stephen Wallace being removed from his position as Offaly manager last week.

It has been a turbulent few weeks for the Faithful County as they now must turn their attention to the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers after Wicklow defeated them in the Leinster SFC.

The new management team of Paul Rouse, Stephen Darby, Niall McNamee and John Rouse have already started working ahead with the squad and Byrne told the Midland Tribune that now was the time to get behind the team for the remainder of the campaign.

"I am not interested in getting into the past," said Byrne. "We have a new management in place. There was 30 something players at training yesterday. This is where we are going, there is no point talking about the past. I think there is general happiness with who is in place. It is really down to them and the lads who are playing. All the old panel are back in and there are lads back playing, additions to the panel."
