Under 13 Football

Tullamore  2-12  Kilcormac Killoughey3-4

Tullamore Under 13 Footballers opened their championship campaign with a good win over Kilcormac Killoughey last Friday evening in OBP.

Tullamore got the best start possible when Adam Bahi goaled with their first attack. The early exchanges were dominated by Tullamore but they were unable to show their dominance on the scoreboard. It was only after ten minutes and a succession of wides that two points  from Rio Osumah and Niall Furlong put them further ahead. A defensive error let in KK for a scrappy goal on 15mins. but Tullamore added further points from Killian Burke, Jack Daly and Sean Kavanagh before a long range effort ended up in the KK net to give them a commanding lead  at half time.

The early stages of the second half were much the same as Tullamore continued to dominate but a gallant KK side never gave up. The game was up for grabs when KK scored two goals in as many minutes to reduce the lead. Tullamore held firm however for the remainder of the game and a brace of points by Jack Bracken helped to secure a deserved victory.

Tullamore U9 footballers played in their second blitz of the year in O' Brien Pk on Saturday. We had over 45 players in attendance and played against St Vincent's, St Broghans  and Clara . All of the players put in a great effort and their hard work at training is showing in these matches. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and training continues every Tuesday and Thursday.
