New Offaly captain Anton Sullivan admits it is an honour and a privilege to lead the county into action this year.
Sullivan has gotten his captaincy off to the best possible start with a comfortable win over Wexford and a draw against All-Ireland champions Dublin in the O'Byrne Cup.
The Rhode forward gave a man of the match display against Wexford and he told the Midland Tribune that the aim was to keep that form going throughout the year.
"It is a huge honour for me and my family, I am looking forward to the year and bringing the boys with me," stated Sullivan.
He added that new manager Stephen Wallace has made a huge impact on the side already as well as his management team.
"Stephen is brilliant, him and Billy Sheehan are on board. It is so good. There is such a freshness. I really enjoy going training. It is all football. If there is something wrong, it is stopped, rectified and we go again.
"Everyone is really buying into it and rowing into the one direction which is great to see."
