St Loman's Ken Casey could be about to make a return to the inter-county scene with his native Offaly.

The former St Brigid's player had a brilliant year with his new club as they claimed a third consecutive Westmeath county title and reached the Leinster club SFC decider where they lost out in heartbreaking fashion to Kildare's Moorefield.

The Midland Tribune reports that Offaly manager Stephen Wallace held talks with the talented forward before Christmas and is set to speak to him again in the very near future.

Casey has not played for the county since 2014 when he transferred to the Mullingar-based club.

Meanwhile, any idea that Nigel Dunne was going to try the dual status this year have been knocked on the head by the player himself who has chosen to concentrate solely on football for the coming year.
