O'Neill vacates Crokes role
Harry O'Neill has stepped down as Dr Crokes manager in the wake of last Saturday's AIB Munster club football semi-final defeat to Crossmaglen.
O'Neill enjoyed three highly successful years in charge of the Killarney club, during which time they contested 10 finals, winning seven, including two Kerry SFC titles and last year's Munster club crown.
O'Neill was at a loss to explain how his side let a seven-point lead slip against Crossmaglen last weekend.
He said: "Our lads really tore into it in the first 25 minutes and we did go 1-5 to 0-1 up and we were still in a good position at half-time at 1-6 to 1-4 up.
"We should have been able to consolidate and refocus and get back in it again, but we just didn't seem to come out in the second half. They upped the ante and they kept driving at us and driving at us and we just didn't seem to have the answer for them.
"They had 14 and we had 15 and we should have been the team that was driving on at that stage."
