Manager search gets underway

July 09, 2019

The question of appointing successors to Malachy O’Rourke as manager of the Monaghan senior football team and Trevor Hilliard as manager of the senior hurling team was discussed at last Monday night's County Committee meeting, with the result that clubs are invited to nominate candidates for both inter-county managerial positions for 2020:

Senior County Football Team Manager

Senior County Hurling Team Manager

The deadline for the receipt of nominations (be e-mail reply) from clubs was set for 12 noon on Monday next July 15th.

Clubs were advised that prior to submission they were to ensure that the candidate being nominated was fully aware of their nomination and was happy to let their name go forward. Following the completion of that process the names of those nominated and/or sought out by the Management Committee will then be passed on to a special subcommittee that was put in place at last Monday night’s meeting with, in the words of County chairman Michael McMahon, “the specific remit of seeking out and getting the best person/persons possible to fill both managerial positions”.
