Corduff Ladies News:

Feile Fever:

Feile fever had been building for weeks and finally came to a climax last weekend when on Friday all roads lead to Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon. Corduff ladies kitted out from head to toe in their new Corduff kit departed from Corduff Raferagh Community Centre on Friday morning to head to their host club Kiltimagh Co Mayo. They received a very warm welcome upon arriving in Kiltimagh and met their hosts. They played Kiltimagh on Friday evening and that match ended a draw. On Saturday morning the Corduff team had the privilege of playing at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence. Despite a massive effort from the girls they were defeated in their 3 matches and exited the competition after the quarter final. The games were over but the Feile fun continued as the girls immediately haeded to the beach after the last match to return to the Park Hotel Kiltimagh on Saturday evening for food and a disco hosted by Kiltimagh. As a thank you gesture Corduff Ladies presented Kiltimagh with a specially commissioned piece of Carrickmacross Lace and the Kiltimagh Club presented Corduff with a specially commissioned glass trophy. On Sunday morning the team and supporters embarked on the return trip. Feile may be over but the memories will live on!

This weekend wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of Corduff Ladies especially Secretary Emma and Feile coordinator Bernie. Thanks to the girls management of Barbara who managed to the Co Championship Final and Laura,Fiona and Kate who were inspirational mentors ahead of and during Feile. Once again thanks to our generous sponsors Lorcan and Philomena Hand of L and P Developments Ltd Electrical Contractors sponsors of training tops, Derek Murnaghan and Co Accountants sponsors of sweat shirts and skinny tracksuit, Michael Higgins of MH Bricklaying and Building Services sponsor of kit bags, shorts and socks and Celtic Pure for keeping the girls hydrated over the weekend.

And finally well done to the Corduff girls who proudly represented the Corduff Club and Monaghan Ladies Gaelic and also well done to the wonderful parents who were there every step of the way!

Fixtures: The U14 Feile team are back in action this Saturday in the league semifinal against Magheracloone. Throw in at 4pm in Magheracloon. Best of luck girls.
