Emyvale club notes

The Eamonn McElroy & Benny Connolly Memorial Cup took place on Monday last 22nd in glorious sunshine. There was a total of 5 team participating in this year’s rearranged competition. Scotstown took home the cup where they defeated Monaghan Harps in the final and Truagh overcame Thyholland in the Shield final. There was some great displays of football on the day. Emyvale wishes all teams the best of luck in the year ahead. Thank you to all who helped out on the day.

Seniors next outing is against Sean Mc Dermotts this Saturday 27th at home with a throw in time of 7.30pm. Come out and show your support.

U7s training continues on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 on pitch.

U9s training continues in Tully on Wednesday and Friday evenings between 7-8pm.

U11 training continues every Monday and Thursday 7.15 -8.25.

U 13 training continues on Thursday evenin at 6.30pm. We had a great run out against Scotstown on Saturday morning and thank goes to Scotstown for hosting the challenge match. Best wishes to them for the year ahead. We have two league games this weekend; on Saturday 27th April with U13 Div 2 team playing Latton at home at 12pm and our U13 Div 6 team play Castleblayney away at 2pm.

U15 had a narrow defeat to Aughnamullen on Thursday last on a high scoring game of 7.11 – 3.16. Next match up for the lads is this Thursday 25th vs Doohmalet away with throw in time at 7pm.

Our U17’s training Tuesday and Thursdays 7.30 – 9.00. Next game in a few weeks.

Well done to our club players Karl Gallaher, Michael Hamill and Allister Stewart who were involved with the Monghan U-17 team who defeated Down in the opening round of this years Ulster Championship. Best wishes to them and all the Monaghan team in the next round.

Sat the 13th of April saw Amelia Murphy take to the stage in Castlebar at the all Ireland final of Scor representing her club Emyvale county Monaghan and indeed Ulster .After an outstanding performance with her song the 'banks of the clyde' it was not to be for Amelia beaten by connacht. On behalf of the club we would like to thank Amelia ,her family and supporters who travelled to Castlebar  and represented the club so well.

The club would like to extend their sincere sympathies to the Skeath family on the passing of Anita. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
