Championship:  Doohamlet  4-09  Toome  2-08

Doohamlet advanced to the next round of the Intermediate Championship with a comprehensive victory over Toome on Saturday last.  A very good first half display saw Doohamlet control the game from the start and goals from Jamie Walshe and Paul McArdle (2) gave Toome an uphill task with Doohamlet leading by 10 points at half time  3-05 to 0-04.  Toome rallied  in the second half as Doohamlet relaxed their grip on the game but a fourth goal from Hugh McGinn and scores from Barry Mc Bennett quelled any chance of a comeback and Doohamlet ran out comfortable winners

4-09 to 2-08.

Doohamlet now meet Aughnamullen in St Mary’s Park, Castleblayney on Saturday next with a  throwin time 5.45pm.

U15’s:  Hard luck to our U15 team who suffered defeat against Truagh in the Manor Farm Div 3 Cup final played in Tyholland last week.  Very hard to take for this great bunch of lads having lost out in the Championship final earlier in the   month but you have got to gain experience at this age and no doubt these lads will learn from these games.  Well done to the team and management for reaching both finals.  Congratulations to Truagh on a fine victory.
