Club Lotto
We had no winner of this week's jackpot, the four numbers picked were 1, 8, 9 and 27. Bernie McGrane, Kieran Boyle, Kathleen Tuite and Peter Lambe each win €50 from the Lucky Dip draw. Next week's jackpot is for €3100 and the draw will take place in the club rooms on Monday evening. You can do the lotto via the usual outlets and online at www.magheracloonemitchells.

Seniors
Our Seniors returned to Championship action last Saturday evening where League positions have no bearing, Championship after all is a different ballgame. Neighbours Carrickmacross were the opponents we faced in a highly anticipated game. Going in as underdogs Magheracloone were fully ready for what was ahead. In a low scoring first half, both teams went in at half time level on five points each, all of Carrick’s five points coming from frees. Carrick looked to have an extra gear when they came out in the second half but three wides from them in quick succession buoyed up the Magheracloone team. Points were exchanged and Magheracloone went two points down with nine minutes left. In a very nervy finish Magheracloone held it together and scored three unanswered points to beat League leaders Carrick by one point. Magheracloone attacked in a more efficient way and reaped the rewards. Excellent defending also from the Mitchells saw only two Carrick players make the scoresheet. Well done to the all the team and management on a fully deserved win.
