Scotstown and Clontribet are through to the Monaghan SFC semi-finals after victories over Ballybay and Castleblayney, respectively.

A stoppage-time free from Conor McCarthy saw reigning champions Scotstown record a narrow 0-9 to 0-8 win in Clontibret yesterday evening. Ballybay were ahead by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break, however, the Pearses will get another chance at reaching the last four when they face Truagh in the qualifiers next weekend.

Conor McManus posted eight points as Clontibret needed extra-time to overcome a stern Castleblayney challenge in Inniskeen on Saturday. 'Blayney looked to be on course for victory when leading by 1-12 to 0-14 at the halfway stage in extra-time but a Michael P O'Dowd goal saw Clontribet come from behind to record a 1-15 to 1-13 success.

'Blayney will now face Magheracloone for a place in the semi-finals which will take place in two weeks' time.
