Senior result irrelevant, says Devlin

Paul Devlin insists the result of last Sunday's Ulster SFC quarter-final between Tyrone and Monaghan will have no bearing on tonight's Ulster U20 quarter-final clash between the same two counties.

Supporters of the neighbouring counties will return to Healy Park just five days after Monaghan won the senior encounter by two points.

"Whatever happened at the weekend will have no bearing on ourselves," the Tyrone U20 boss told the Irish News as he prepares to face a Farney County side managed by former Red Hand attacker Ciaran 'Dinky' McBride.

"It's a different game, a different day, different players. This is a new dawn, a new day for us, and a new challenge. It's all down to what happens on the day. It's about every lad being focused on the day and doing their job.

"Monaghan will come with a lot lads with a desire to do well, they'll be coming up with all guns blazing to get another result, but we'll be doing all in our power to swing it our way."
