Monaghan minor manager Seamus McEnaney

CHARACTER WON IT FOR US AGAIN said Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney

"It is a great victory and we had some brilliant individual performances there today, but we don't like doing it the handy way, and games that this could shorten my life's journey, but I am so proud of those lads because they showed such character today again.

"Last week we were 3 points down with 7 minutes to go and we were 6 points down today with 10 minutes to go in the second-half and we looked in trouble after conceding that goal, but what character came through.

"They built character again today and if Monaghan teams going forward and this team going forward can take that type of character with them they will not go far wrong in life."

EIRGRID ULSTER U20 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Monaghan v Tyrone: Healy Park, Omagh: Friday May 25th @ 8.00pm

For the 2nd time inside a week Monaghan will be back in Healy Park, Omagh, tomorrow evening Friday May 25th when the under 20 County team take on Tyrone in the quarter-final of the Eirgrid sponsored Ulster under 20 football championship, and no doubt the effort and achievement of the senior team on Sunday last at the same venue and against the same opposition, will give them that little bit of inspiration.

Tyrone on the other hand will be using the result from last Sunday as motivation for their players to be fully focused on the day and doing their job to the utmost effect because they will be aware that this Monaghan under 20 team will come with the boys having a great desire to emulate their senior counterparts and indeed some of them are members of the county senior panel.
