Doohamlet club notes

May 16, 2018

Seniors:  Doohamlet 5-10 Tyholland 2-13

At a sun drenched O'Neill Park Doohamlet and Tyholland treated the large crowd to a goal fest in this Intermediate League clash on Sunday last. This was a game of free-flowing football although neither manager will be happy with the defending on show. Tyholland played very well in the first quarter and raced into a 2-03 to 0-01 lead. The home side steadied and pulled two goals back through Oisin O'Neill and when Niall Connolly netted just before half time  the sides were level at the break Doohamlet 3-04 Tyholland 2-07. Doohamlet introduced Paul McArdle for the second half and points from Barry McBennett and Barry McGinn had the home side in front before Tyholland pointed from a penalty kick. The home side were now rampant and when Niall Connolly netted his second goal following good work from Jamie Walshe Doohamlet cruised to victory in the final quarter. Paul McArdle netted goal number five with a cracking finish and further points from Barry McGinn, Jamie Walshe and Paul McArdle closed the game out. Conor Marray, Damian Ward and Ted Duffy deserve special mention for outstanding individual displays. Doohamlet next travel to Threemilehouse on Friday evening to play Seans with an 8pm throw-in.
