The proposed new look Pairc Tailteann

Chairman John Kavanagh paid tribute to everyone involved in securing funding of €6.2m for the redevelopment of Pairc Tailteann at last night's county committee meeting.

Kavanagh said it was great news for Meath GAA and reward for a lot of hard work that had been put in behind the scenes by the infrastructure committee, the operations manager Seamus Kenny and by the previous chairman Peter O'Halloran. He also thanked local representatives, Ministers McEntee, English and Doherty for all their help in securing such large funding.

He said that the amount of paperwork done to secure the funding was like a small library. A full report and detailed plan regarding the development will be outlined to delegates at the February meeting, according to Kavanagh.

Pat Smyth (O'Mahonys) echoed the chairman's sentiments and said the county was indebted to the people who had helped secure the funding.

Final figures on the Royal House Draw will also be available at the February meeting.

County PRO Ciaran Flynn said it was intended to have a draw for two All-Ireland football final tickets at each of Meath's home NFL Division 1 games, against Donegal, Mayo and Galway. Entry to the draw would be €5 and all proceeds would go to the Pairc Tailteann development.
