St Ultans GFC have appointed former player and current u21 manager Cian Rennicks as their new manager for 2019. Cian is a former captain and regarded as one of the best players to ever wear the green and black of St Ultans. The Martry and Bohermeen outfit were relegated to junior in 2018 and will be hoping their new manager can help them return to the intermediate ranks as soon as possible.

“We’re delighted Cian decided to go forward and become our manager for 2019. There’s no one that can match Cian’s desire and passion for St Ultans. We hope he can transfer some of that hunger onto our players. We’re confident he has the managerial ability and football intelligence to be a great success”, said St Ultans’ Secretary David Ball.

Cian will be hoping to bring on a new wave of St Ultans players, on to the team, when he takes charge. He’s currently working with the St Ultans Cortown Gaels u21’s who have had two convincing wins in their championship run so far. The latest being a 5-12 to 1-6 win over Gaeil Colmcilles.

Previously, Cian has had managerial success with underage teams within the club and the St Ultans’ Ladies. Who he won a senior championship with as manager. Cian will be helped by another former Ultans player Rob Duffy who will be his selector for the coming year.
