New first team manager for St. Michaels

St Michaels manager Francis McPhillips
The committee of St. Michaels GFC have ratified “Fra” ( Francis ) McPhillips as new first team manager & coach.
"Fra" as he likes to be known, is from Shercock in Co. Cavan and is not that long out of the playing gear himself, however he has excelled in his short time in management, winning the Cavan division 1 MFC in 2011 with O'Raghallaigh Gaels ( Shercock / Kingscourt stars combination) going on to lose out in the Ulster final.
He won a division 1 FL title with the O'Raghallaigh Gaels in 2012 and a division 2 FL title in 2013 & 2014.
In 2016 he won the division 2 adult FL title with Shercock and a year later in 2017 he managed his native Shercock to win the Cavan IFC title for only the second time in their history defeating Ballyhaise in the final by 5 points.
In 2018 he took up the post of training coach with the Kingscourt stars senior team however having previously worked with the majority of those players at minor level with O'Raghallaigh Gaels he is now seeking new challenges with new faces in the St. Michaels camp.
Fra's backroom team has yet to be selected.
