Kildalkey 1-18 Donaghmore Ashbourne 1-8

Kildalkey's intermediate team traveled to Ashbourne on Thursday evening for this Division 3 hurling league fixture against the hosts Donaghmore Ashbourne.

It was Donaghmore who started the brighter and a long ball Into the square deceived everyone and ended up in the Kildalkey net and a free left them 1-1 to 0-0 up after 5 minutes. Kildalkey stuck to their task and a Mark Healy point settled them. Further scores from Cathal Egan, Kevin McKeon, Brian Coneely along with 3 Ross Flynn frees and 1-1 from Andy Fagan left the visitors in front 1-8 to 1-5 ahead at halftime. 

Staunch defending from Sean Crash Corrigan, Tiernan Bird and David Coneely kept Donaghmore at bay and forced them to turnover the ball numerous times with Ben Rickard also to the fore in the half .

With Corrigan, Eoin Potterton, David Coneely Ross Flynn and Mark Healy all playing for the second night in a row they could have been forgiven if they tired but instead they kept going and all contributed greatly to the game. Kildalkey went on to dominate the second half as the scores kept coming Shane Reilly hit a point and Healy hit another  along with Ross Flynn (2), McKeon (2) and Egan left the Blues in a healthy position. Brian Coneely with 2 and Andy Fagan hit the last 3 points to seal the win and the 2 points in what was Kildalkey's fourth win from four games and stay unbeaten.

Kildalkey also hit 19 wides in the game and will need to sharpen up for the next day.Next up is Dunderry.
