Horan looking down the line

Mayo manager James Horan wouldn’t fear facing Dublin again this year.

It is now eight years since Mayo came out on top against the Dubs following last Saturday’s FL1 encounter between the sides that saw the All-Ireland champions win by six points.

However, Horan would have no problem facing their old rivals again and he stressed to the Western People that records are only highlighted by the media.

“We might get another chance at Dublin soon, you never know. We’ll try to look forward to that if it comes. You’d know about these records because they’d be in the media but you take every game at face value so you’re always going to try and win your home games,” said Horan.

“With the All-Ireland champions in your house, you’re definitely going to try and win that and then with these sort of records involved, it’s an added incentive but it’s not your primary focus.”
