Mayo GAA chiefs have been requested to meet with Connacht Council and Central Council officials over the ongoing funding row between the county board and the International Supporters Foundation.

Off The Ball reports that the purpose of the meeting is to "scope the full extent" of the problem and to help "reach a solution that will be sustainable into the future".

The International Supporters Foundation is withholding around €250,000 in funding due to concerns over governance and sponsorship, which led to the county board executive facing a vote of confidence behind closed doors this week. Seven clubs have disputed a county board statement that a vote of confidence in the county board and the executive was ‘resoundingly passed by all delegates'.

Following on from this, Mayo GAA issued another statement on Thursday night which read: "A Mayo GAA Co Board meeting took place tonight in Elverys MacHale Park to discuss a number of topics with a range of views expressed by all in attendance. Following this all Clubs & the Board are now all looking forward to working together for the betterment of Mayo GAA from now on & into 2020."
