Following a successful debut season for the Greater Western Sydney Giants, Cora Staunton has hit the ground running in 2019 for the AFL outfit by scoring a hat-trick of goals in a practice match.
The 37-year-old ladies football legend, whose Mayo career looks to be over after last year's much-publicised walkout by the Carnacon contingent, was in sparkling form as the GWS Giants cruised to a 75-28 victory over the Brisbane Lions overnight. Donegal's Yvonne Bonner was also among the goals for the Sydney club.
Staunton became the first international player signed by a women’s Aussie Rules side in 2017 and capped an impressive first season by winning the club’s Goal of the Year award.
