Ex-Kerry star Bryan Sheehan says it's difficult to see Mayo making the Super 8s after last Sunday's Connacht SFC quarter-final defeat to Galway.  

The past two summers have saw Stephen Rochford's side bounce back impressively from provincial defeats to Galway to reach the All-Ireland final stage but Sheehan - a five-time Celtic Cross winner with the Kingdom - can't see them repeating the trick over the next few months.

"It's going to be difficult, if they're going to make the Super 8s and a semi-final they'll be out week in, week out," Sheehan is quoted saying by the Irish Daily Star.

"With the age profile they have, Andy Moran, Keith Higgins, all the lads who were their best players on Sunday, can they keep going a couple of weeks on the trot and still have it in their legs at the end of it?

"Are the players that are going to come in going to make an impact? They haven't so far, and what's happened to them now with the injuries to key players - they had a full deck last year but now they're missing the likes of Lee Keegan and Tom Parsons.

"When you put all that together you would think that they'd struggle, all the signs would point to it, especially if they got a tough draw away, Cavan or the loser of Tyrone/Monaghan."
