Tom Parsons has been wished a speedy recovery by Galway captain Damien Comer from the horror knee injury he sustained in yesterday's Connacht SFC quarter-final.

The Mayo midfielder dislocated his kneecap following an accidental collision with Eoghan Kerin in the second half of Mayo's three-point defeat and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

"It was nice [to win] but I've got to say best wishes to Tom Parsons, I saw his leg and it didn't look great. Obviously at the end of the day, sport is sport but you have to think of player welfare and I wish him a speedy recovery," Comer told RTÉ.

The Annaghdown clubman wasn't getting carried away with what was the Tribesmen's third championship win over their great rivals in as many years.

"We've done it before, we've beaten them down here but it's all about looking forward to the next game [against Sligo]," he continued.

"We can't look past that and all eyes are going to be on that. As I said during the league, all we want to do is stick to the process and build consistent performances. Everyday we go out to perform and that's what we'll be looking forward to next."
