Sheelan Cup: Not a great start to the season, with a very heavy defeat away to St. Fechins last Thursday night. Minus a lot of players the lads done their best but the opposition were to strong and ran out easy winners. We out again this Saturday night against the Blues in Drogheda at 8.00pm.

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms on Wednesday 19th February at 8.00pm, jackpot €2,300 in 48 numbers. 

Register: Your last chance to register your child we the club will take place this Thursday in the clubhouse from 6.30 to 7.15. If your child wishes to play for O’Connells they must be registered with the club.

Championship: The draws for the 2020 Louth championships were made last Thursday night in Darver. We are in group three of the senior championship along with Dundalk Gaels and our neighbours St. Josephs, our first game will likely be against the Gaels with the winners then playing the Joes. The other groups are as follows, Group 1: St. Patricks, Geraldines and O’Raghallaighs. Group 2: St. Mochtas, Dreadnots and Naomh Mairtin. Group 4: Mattock Rangers, Newtown Blues and St. Marys.

Overage: Are you aged 40+ and still think you have it? The Gaelic Masters Association organise competitive games throughout Ireland. If you are interested email [email protected] 

Scór: Scór Sinsir will take place on 26th February in Naomh Mairtins Hall. They are still looking for groups and quiz teams to enter. The categories are as follows: Rince Foirne Figure/Céilé dancing, Amhránaíocht Aonair/ Solo Singing, Aithriseoir/Scéalaoíocht Recitation/Storyteling, Bailéád Ghrúpa/ Ballad Group, Nuachleas/ Novelty Act, Ceol Uirlise/ Instrumental Music, Rince Seit/ Set Dancing. Draw: Louth GAA is pleased to announce details of the launch of the Wee County Double House Draw, a fundraising initiative where two houses are up for grabs. The first drawn ticket will win the choice of a brand new three-bed semi-detached house at Sea View Way in Blackrock, Dundalk or at Beaulieu Village in Drogheda. The second drawn ticket will win the remaining house. The third prize in the draw is €10,000. Tickets cost €100. The total value of the prizes is in excess of €500,000 though alternative cash prizes are also on offer. All monies raised from the draw will go towards the funding of the new Louth GAA Stadium. Those interested in buying tickets should contact their local Louth GAA club, or alternatively purchase on www.pickahouse.ie (details of specified shops/offices are also listed on the website).
