AGM: Our annual general meeting will take place on Friday 29th November at 8pm in our clubrooms, all players, members and intending members are requested to attend. This is your chance to have a say about anything in the club from how it is run to the way the team plays, or maybe you want to come on board the committee or share some of your ideas to help the club. This is the night to do it, so if you’re interested come along.

Leinster: Best of luck to Mattock Rangers who play Dunlavin from Wicklow in Stabannon on Saturday @ 2pm in the Lenister Intermediate Club Championship semi-finals. The Collon men are Louth’s only remaining team in the 2019 Leinster Club Championships.

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 27th November at 8.00pm, jackpot €1,200 in 48 numbers.

Forum: The third annual Louth GAA Youth Forum will take place the Darver Centre of Excellence on Saturday 23rd November @ 10am-1.30pm. Speakers on the day include Louths Sam Mulroy, Armaghs Rian O’Neill and Monaghan’s Niall Kearns. If any of our youth members aged 15 or 16 would like to attend this forum contact our club secretary to book your place on the course.

Finals: The U20 football championship is set to take centre stage at Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day in place of the All-Ireland club senior finals. It is believed that either the All-Ireland U20FC final or a semi-final double-header will take place at headquarters next March 17th, depending on the scheduling of the provincial games. The staging of the club finals in Croke Park on St Patrick’s Day have been a tradition since the mid -1980s but they are set to be moved to January with the GAA eventually hoping to have them wrapped up before Christmas in years to come. Saturday week’s Central Council meeting is expected to see the U20 proposal approved when discussions take place for the 2020 fixtures plan.

Games: The AFL and the GAA have confirmed that two, two-test International Rules Series will be played in both Ireland and Australia. The first series will be played in Ireland in November 2020 with a return two-test series to be played in Australia in 2022. The Provisional dates for next year’s games are Sunday November 15 and Saturday November 21 and venues and match arrangements will be confirmed in due course. The IRS matches will be the first played since Australia reclaimed the Cormac McAnallen Trophy after matches in Adelaide and Perth in 2017.
