Division 5/6: We thought we were finished for the season but we had one more game, after finishing 4th in the division six league we qualified for the playoffs and lined out against Oliver Plunketts last Sunday morning. With just 13 players and one sub the lads put in a gutsy performance just losing out by three points. The club would like to thank all who lined out on the morning and in all the games throughout the season, we would also like to thank selectors Stephen Hoey and Jim Connolly for their work with the team this season it is very much appreciated by the club. We thought the season was all over, it definitely is now.

Team: David Eager; David Newsy, Leslie Walsh; Jack Saddler 0-1, Keith Woods, Stefan O’Hanrahan 0-1; Emmet Byrne 0-1, John McLoughlin 0-1; Cian Geeney 0-1, Cian O’Dwyer 1-2, James Murphy; Alan Hodgers, Stuart Reynolds 0-4(1f,2,45). Subs David Dunne for A. Hodgers.

Injury: The club would like to wish a speedy recovery to one of our players Gary Connolly who broke his arm in the game against the Gaels last Saturday week and had an operation the following day in Dublin. We would also like to thank Stephen Hannify for driving Gary to and from hospital on the night; the club really does appreciate it.

Bingo: Bingo will continue in our clubrooms this Wednesday 11th September at 8.00pm, jackpot €5,000 in 48 numbers.

Dogs: Dog fouling is an eyesore and a health hazard, if you are a dog owner you have a legal duty to clean up your dog mess in a public place. This has become a problem in the Grove, most GAA grounds do not allow dogs at any time we have not done this at the moment, so if your dog is in the Grove at any time please clean up the dog mess as it can be really harmful to players especially children who are particularly at risk and infection can lead to illness and even partial loss of sight.

Social Dancing: There will be social dancing on Saturday 21st September in our clubrooms from 9.00pm, music by Brian McDermott, admission €10 and refreshments will be served.

Slimming World: Slimming World will be in our clubrooms every Monday from 7.00pm with consultant Aveen 087-3620348.

Cúl Camps: There are a small number of cúl camp kits for sale at a cost of €30. This includes the ½ Zip top, T-Shirt and Bags. The sizes* available are: 1A(Age 6), 2A(Age7&8), %A(Age 12/14), *Approx. If interested please contact Shane Lennon @ [email protected] or call 0851418066.
