Sympathy: Dromard GAA offers its sympathy to the Murphy Family, Gaigue Cross, on the death of James Murphy, Gaigue and London. The club extends its sympathy to Pauleen McEntee and her family, Drumhaldry, on the sudden and sad passing of Pauleen's sister, Kathleen Keegan (née Brady), Brucehall, Gurteen, Arva and to the Keegan and Brady families. The Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anamneacha.

AGM: The AGM of Dromard GAA Club will take place on Sunday 2nd December at 4pm in the Clubhouse. Nomination forms for club officer positions will be available in Corrigans and Moyne Stores. Completed forms can be handed in at the Clubhouse.

Monthly Members Draw: Thank you to all those who have already renewed their subscription for the 2018/19 season. The Dromard GAA Special Members Draw was launched two years ago and it has been hugely successful with 98 winners receiving prize money over a 24 month period which amounted to €20,400. This Draw has provided vital funds to run and maintain this great club of ours and so we are again asking you to “Support you Club, Support your Community, Be Part of It” by renewing your subscription for the year ahead. If you missed out last year please consider becoming a new subscriber to this draw. As before, a minimum of €800 will be given away in each monthly draw with, 1st Prize of €500 and 3 €100 prizes. In addition subscribers will enjoy: 2019 Membership to Dromard GAA Club; Access to the Weekly and Monthly Newsletter and; Entry into Draw for All-Ireland Tickets (hurling & football). Leinster Championship: Congratulations to Mullinalaghta St Columbas on their victory over Rhode in Leinster quarter final on Sunday in Tullamore. Commiserations to Rathcline on their narrow one-point defeat to the Wexford champions Horeswood in the intermediate club championship in New Ross on Saturday.

 

New Arrival: Congratulations to Barry Kiernan, Fostra and his wife Lizzy on the birth of their son J.J. some months back. No doubt they took J.J. to see Lizzy's Mullinaughta winning in the first round of the Leinster Championship last Sunday to get some valuable experience for the Blue and Gold in the years ahead!

 

Get Well Wishes: The Club would like to wish a speedy recovery to former player, coach and club officer John Owens as he recuperates from recent surgery.

Dromard Healthy Clubs: The Sunday morning walking club is now starting at 8.45 from Dromard GAA clubhouse. Everyone is welcome. Enjoy a nice one-hour stroll through the scenic lanes, hills and by the lakes of Dromard.

Fitness Classes: Classes continue in Dromard Club House and we are delighted to announce the addition of Zumba on a Tuesday evening, a fun and easy way to get fit and stay healthy.  These classes are open to anyone in the community interested in getting fit. The full programme is as follows: yoga on Monday from 8-9pm. Tuesday: LC Fitness bootcamp and Zumba class with Aisha. Wednesday: range of movement for active age with Shane and LC 8 week weight loss Christmas challenge. Thursday: LC Fitness bootcamp. Saturday: LC Fitness bootcamp/circuit training with Paul.

St Francis Dromard Minor Club Notes

Congratulations: Best wishes to our Minor Club Chairman Tommy O'Neill, Legga, and his fiancée Lorna Brook Davis who are getting married this week in Las Vagas, Navada. A number of neighbours and friends from the Legga area as well as Tommy and Lorna's relations and friends have travelled stateside for the wedding. Here’s hoping that they have a wonderful time and that Tommy and Lorna have a long, happy and healthy life together.

U13  St. Francis/ St. Colmcille's: Hard luck to the St. Francis/ St. Colmcille's U13 amalgamation team who were defeated by a strong Clonguish Óg team in on Monday 5th November in Allen Park. Thank you to the mentors and also to the referee Jimmy Mc Cormack

 

Dromard Ladies Club Notes

U14 County Trials: Under 14 County Trials took place last Thursday and Louise Tierney, Kate  MacEntire and Naoise Hourican patiently await to here if they have managed to get on this very skilled panel of approximately 25 girls. 80 girls turned up for the trials and we wish all of them, especially our Dromard girls the best of luck.

Birthdays: We would like to wish three special happy birthdays to  Doireann Mimnagh, Sarah Hagan and Evelyn Kiernan. Sarah will turn 7 on Saturday and Evelyn will turn 9 on the same day. Doireann's birthday is on Thursday. Her actual age will remain confidential as will her excursion to Germany along with some of her fellow team mates!

Annual Fuel Draw: The Annual Fuel Draw is fast approaching and the tickets are in the printing press as we speak and will be ready to go in time for the presentation night. Full details will be released next week.
