Dromard club notes

Wedding Bells: Congratulations to senior player Gavin McNerney on his marriage to Brenda Stenson on Saturday. As well representing Dromard on the field as a very skilful goalkeeper, Gavin has previously served as Chairman of St. Francis minor Club and is a committed member of the Club. We would like to wish Brenda and Gavin health and happiness in the years ahead.

Monthly Draw: A reminder to all our supporters of the opportunity to renew your subscription to the Club’s Monthly Members Draw for the 2018/19 year. One year’s membership costs €100 and the funds raised go directly to meeting the running costs of the Club and the maintenance of the facilities at Páirc na nGael. A guaranteed €800 will be given away in each monthly draw. In addition, subscribers will receive 2019 Membership of Dromard GAA Club, access to the weekly and monthly Club Newsletter and entry into the draw for All Ireland Hurling and Football Final tickets. Thank you to all those who have already signed up for the 2018/19 season and we hope that those who have yet to do so will consider signing up for next year. Subscribers can register online by logging on to www.myclubfinances.com/dromardmonthlydraw. We encourage as many people as possible to sign up online - the process is simple and takes less than two minutes. You can also sign up by filling out a registration form which is available in the Clubhouse or from any member of the Club executive. Thank you to our members for you continued support.

Dromard Athletics: The coaches and volunteers of Dromard Athletics would like to wish all our members a very happy Halloween Break, we will see you all back on November 5th at 6pm. We will not be taking on any new members until January 2019.

 

Dromard Healthy Clubs: The walking group has started again every Sunday morning leaving the Club House at 9.30 sharp, doing a 1 hour walk.  Everybody is welcome to come along and join any Sunday that it suits.  

 

Fitness Classes: Classes continue in Dromard Club House and we are delighted to announce the addition of Zumba on a Tuesday evening, a fun and easy way to get fit and stay healthy.  These classes are open to anyone in the community interested in getting fit. The full programme is as follows: yoga on Monday from 8-9pm. Tuesday: LC Fitness bootcamp and Zumba class with Aisha. Wednesday: range of movement for active age with Shane and LC 8 week weight loss Christmas challenge. Thursday: LC Fitness bootcamp. Saturday: LC Fitness bootcamp/circuit training with Paul.

 

Recipe of the Month: We will be sharing a healthy recipe every month, they will be easy to make healthy recipes for the whole family to share.  Our First recipe is a healthy Spaghetti Bolognaise.  This is a quick and easy healthy family meal.  If there are any recipes people would like to share, please send them onto [email protected], or send us your pics to let us know how your Bolognaise turned out. Please see the Dromard GAA Newsletter for details.

 

 

Dromard Ladies Club Notes

Minors: Congratulations to our minor team on their superb win against Mostrim on Sunday morning in Devine Park, Mostrim. This was a quarter final game that we needed to win and all the girls pulled together and put in 110 per cent effort to get the result that they truly deserved. Dromard 3-7 Mostrim 1-11. The panel consisted of Alannah Reilly, Alyssa Mcerlean, Louise Tierney, Aoife Brady, Avril Cosgrove, Nicole Conboy, Orflaith Mulligan, Karen McLoughlin, Shauna Hagan, Alannah Mulligan, Aisling Farrell, Amy McLoughlin, Aine Smith, Tamara Cosgrove and Aoife Grimes. Training will continue as normal on Tuesday evening and we will play our Semi-Final against Ballymore this coming Sunday in Ballymore. We hope to have many supporters at this game and we thank everybody for their support to date.

 

Birthday: We would like to wish a very happy birthday to Elena O'Reilly who will turn 12 on Friday. We hope you have a fantastic day and enjoy your mid-term break!
