Upcoming Fixtures

County U21 Football Semi-Final

Fr. Caseys Vs Monaleen – Friday December 13th in Mick Neville Park at 8pm

County U21 Football Quarter-Final

Fr. Caseys 0-14, Galbally 1-08

Fr. Caseys Under 21 Footballers travelled to Kilbreedy last Friday evening to take on Galbally with a place in the county semi-final up for grabs. This was a repeat of the county Minor Final in September and the same positive result would be more than welcomed on this occasion. Galbally started in blistering fashion and lead by 1-02 to no score after 5 minutes. Eventually Fr. Caseys settled with a brace of points. In an evenly contested match both teams traded points through the first half and although Galbally never conceded their early lead Fr. Caseys had narrowed the margin to just a single point at the break. The half time score was Fr. Caseys 0-07, Galbally 1-05. Fr. Caseys hit the ground running for the start of the second half, taking the lead for the first time on 39 minutes then extending it to two points moments later. Galbally battled back and with just 9 minutes on the watch the teams were tied 0-11 to 1-08. A big finish was required and this Fr. Caseys team who have been undefeated since the opening round loss to Na Piarsaigh were not finished yet. Three unanswered points in the closing stages saw the Abbeyfeale emerge with a hard fought and well-deserved victory. This tough test will no doubt stand Fr. Caseys well but it doesn’t get any easier from here. Next up is Monaleen next Friday night in Mick Neville in the County Semi-Final. With just 60 minutes of football away from a County Final we wish Maurice, Sean, Keith and all the team the very best of luck. Hopefully a large crowd can make the short trip to cheer on the boys
