MOLYNEAUX’S POINTS INSPIRES DROMCOLLOGHER/ BROADFORD TO VICTORY!!!

St. Senan’s 1-09

 

This was a game of two halves with St. Senan’s lead by 1-7 to 0-2 with 29 minutes gone in the game with Adam Kearns scoring the goal for St. Senan’s and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Kevin Noonan and James Molyneaux to leave the score at the break St. Senan’s 1-7 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4. Then in the second half we outscored St. Senan’s by 2-6 to 0-2 with our goals coming from Cillian Fahy and our points came from James Molyneaux 3 points and Kevin Noonan, Derry McCarthy, Paul Madigan all scoring a point. The above club would like to thank the Management team of Mike Fahy, Séan Buckley, Liam McGraynor and Diarmuid O’Carroll and Kitman Garry and the panel of players led by Derry McCarthy Captain.

 

Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ray Flaherty of St. Senan’s exchanged points and then St. Senan’s scored the next three points to lead by three points and these points came from Séan McSweeney, Darren Kavanagh and Ian Ryan. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Ian Ryan exchanged pointed frees to leave three points between the sides and then St. Senan’s scored the next 1-2 of the game with the goal coming from Adam Kearns and the points came from Séan McSweeney and Ian Ryan to leave eight points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from James Molyneaux and Kevin Noonan to leave six points between the sides at the break. To leave the score at half-time St. Senan’s 1-7 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-4.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first 1-5 of the half to lead by 2 points with the goal coming from Cillian Fahy and two out of five points coming from the James Molyneaux who was the man of match on today the and the other points came from Kevin Noonan, Derry McCarthy and Paul Madigan and then St. Senan’s scored the next two points of the game and these points came from Sean McSweeney and Adam Kearns to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-1 of the game with our goal coming from Cillian Fahy and the point came from James Molyneaux to give us victory of four points on the day and to maintain our Senior Football status for another year.

U12 hurling Notes

 

On Thursday night our hurlers took on Kildimo/ Pallaskenry in the semi- final this game was played in Coolcappagh. This game was played at a very high standard of hurling with great skill on display. All the players in both teams worked very in both halves with some great scores got by both teams. This really turned out to be a great game of hurling with Dromcollogher/ Broadford emerging winners and the team was as follows: J. Lenihan, B. Geary, G. Farrell, R. Jefferies, S. Browne, O. Broderick, C. Boyce, A. O’Kelly, S. O’ Flynn, A O’Dell, R. O’Dell. C. Burke, D. O’Connell, R. Sheehan, D. Fealy, D.J. Cussen.

 

U13 Hurling Notes

On Monday night our hurlers played there third game in this competition against Cappagh/ Rathkeale/ Croagh/ Kilfinny. This was going to be tough game as there were missing a few regulars on the night. This was a very tight affair right through the game with the young guys stepping up to the mark. This would not be one our best performances but still grinded out a victory of 2 points. Team was as follows: J. Lenihan, S. Browne, A. Leahy. B. Croke, R. O’ Dell, C. O’Brien. N. O’Connor, A. Sheehan, R. Lynch, R. O’Sullivan, A. O’Kelly, D. Reidy, B. Geary, G. O’Callaghan and C. Burke.

Results of the 356th draw took place on September 16th, in the Corner House, Dromcollogher and the numbers drawn were: 1, 15, 20, 31 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €6,500 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: John Curtin, Glenduff, Ashford and Charlie Duggan, Knocktoosh, Broadford and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday September 23rd, in Begley’s Bar, Broadford and the Jackpot is going up to €6,600 and the match three is staying at €100. Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
