Patrickswell club notes

JUNIOR A HURLERS: Patrickswell extended their winning start to the City Championship with a hard-fought win over Na Piarsaigh.

Peter Harty scored a quickfire goal after two minutes to make the perfect start. Na Piarsaigh's first point was immediately followed by points from Jamie Dillon and Peter Harty. The middle of the first half was finely balanced. Patrickswell added four points from David Woulfe, Gavin Carey, Clive Kirby and Peter Harty. In that time, the Caherdavin men notched three points. After twenty minutes, Anthony Carmody's team were 1-6 to 0-4 ahead. Patrickswell surged into an eight-point lead when Jamie Dillon and Cian Enright (0-2) scored consecutive points. Na Piarsaigh ended the first half strongly. While Cian Enright, Gavin Carey and David Woulfe added to their tallies, the Light Blues accrued four points. The half-time scoreline was 1-12 to 0-8.

Clive Kirby claimed the first point of the second half, but our opponents responded with two points. Peter Harty restored the seven-point margin; however the game was opened up by a Na Piarsaigh goal. With fifteen  minutes left, the score was 1-14 to 1-10. Thankfully Patrickswell were able to see out the match with two points from Peter Harty and a single score from Aaron Carmody. The result was a 1-17 to 1-12 victory.

CLUB LOTTO: Lotto results for the week ending Monday July 15 were as follows. The numbers drawn were 10, 12, 13 and 16. The Bonus was 25. There was no jackpot winner. The Lucky Dip Winners were Noel & Marie Gavin €100, Therese Kiely €50, John McDermott €20, Dan Brett €20, David Mann €20, Declan Kerins €20 and Joan Hickey €20. The next draw on Monday July 22 will be held in the Cu Chulainn. The jackpot is €3,800.
