Kildimo/Pallaskenry club notes

July 08, 2019

CÚL CAMP: The club’s Cúl Camp starts next week, beginning Monday July 15 to Friday July 19 at a cost of €60 (with a discount for family members). To book your child’s place, please go to www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie. The camp begins at 10am each morning, and finishes at 2.30pm.

Required: packed lunch and drink, hurley and helmet, mouthguard for football, water, towel, sun cream, baseball bat, rain jacket and changes of clothes on wet days as well as suitable playing gear- tracksuit, shorts, runners, boots.

LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: Huge congratulations to Jamie Hickey who was the starting goalkeeper for the Limerick U-20 footballers who defeated Tipperary by a single point in the first round of the Munster Championship! The victory came after a heroic fightback from eight points down, with a last-gasp ’45 sealing the win! This was a fantastic win and everyone at the club would like to wish Jamie and the rest of the team the very best of luck in the semi-final against Kerry!

LIMERICK U-20 HURLERS: Commiserations to Adam Butler and Liam Griffin who were part of the Limerick U-20 hurling panel who were defeated by a very strong Cork side in Páirc Uí Rinn during the week. The game was very even for large portions but Cork finished the stronger. Well done to Liam and Adam for all their efforts during the year!

UNDERAGE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS: Best of luck to club players Jamie Rogers and Jamie Behan who were named as part of the Limerick U-15 football panel for the Dermot Earley Memorial Tournament and to Garry Sheehan who is part of the U-16 football panel for the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel tournament. Continued representation on the county scene in both codes is a testament to the great young players coming through the club at the moment, so well done to all involved!

CONGRATULATIONS: A hearty congratulations to one of the stalwarts of our intermediate football team, Barry Walsh, who got married at the weekend. Everyone at the club would like to wish himself and Lucy every happiness together!

CLUB LOTTO: The lotto numbers on 2 July 2019 in De Bucket were 1, 9, 14 and 17. There was no winner of the overall draw, while the winners of the €25 lucky dips were Caroline O’Brien, Maurice Sheehan, Orla Browne and John McCarthy.

The jackpot has now reached €17,300 for next week’s draw in the Seven Sisters! You have to be in to win! Please continue to support the club lotto, which is the most vital source of funds to fund all our teams from U-6 up to adult grade! An annual subscription is just €100 (€50 for 6 months, €25 per quarter or €8.50 per month) and a subscription form can be requested from any lotto seller or committee member.

REGISTRATION: The deadline for registration has now passed; anybody who has not registered or paid, please do so as soon as possible as unregistered players are ineligible to take the field or to train with the club.

CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: Sadly, there was no club winner in the Club Limerick draw for June. However, there is no better way to support both and show our players you’re right behind them all the way. Kildimo Pallaskenry GAA is very fortunate to have a number of players involved with county teams in both hurling and football across a number of grades. Join the CLUB Limerick Draw online or with any club committee member. Support your club and county teams!
