Clare are through to the Phase 1 final of the Munster minor football championship after seeing off Tipperary by 1-10 to 0-6 this evening in Ennis.

Eoin Talty’s goal on the half-hour mark paved the path to victory for the young Banner men after they’d fallen three points behind to the visitors.

Peter Creedon (free) and James Armstrong helped put Tipp three to the good before Talty’s strike and injury-time points from Conor Hassett and Shane Meehan saw Clare lead at half-time by 1-2 to 0-3.

Creedon narrowed the difference down to one early in the restart but the hosts found their rhythm again as Conor Shanahan, Talty and skipper Meehan, who finished with 0-5, helped ensure the seven-point win.

There was no separating Waterford and Limerick in the evening’s other game as it finished 1-7 to 0-10 at Fraher Field.

Aaron Ryan’s goal on 27 minutes looked to have the home side on their way as they led by 1-4 to 0-3 at the half but the Treaty County battled back well for a draw that ensures Clare a place in the competition’s Phase 1 decider.
