Despite their 17-point winning margin, there were aspects of last night’s performance against Laois that Limerick boss John Kiely wasn’t happy with.

The hosts were no match for the Treaty County but Kiely will demand improvement from his troops moving forward.

“The good, the bad, the ugly really,” he said when interviewed by Sporting Limerick shortly after the final whistle.

“There was a lot of very good stuff up to maybe the 52nd minute. We found it hard then to keep a rhythm in the game. I think we only scored two points in the last 15, 20 minutes. I wouldn’t be very happy with the last quarter, first three quarters I’d be happy enough with.”

Limerick are now looking forward to a fourth league semi-final appearance on the trot.

“We were in a semi-final last year, we’re back there again this year. We’ve two weeks to get ready, we’ve a lot of work to do. There’s a lot of what was on show tonight we’ll need to improve on.”

The All-Ireland winning manager concluded: “Overall the objective was come and get your result. We’ve done that, we’ll move on, get ready for the next game.”
