Liam McCarthy & Ladies Football All Ireland Cups are Coming to Rathkeale

Rathkeale GAA Club are honoured and proud to announce that we will host both the Liam McCarthy Cup & Ladies Football All Ireland Cup on Sunday, November 11th.

This is a fantastic occasion for the parish and we are looking forward to giving Kate Geary, Olivia Giltenane, Joe O’Connor and many more a warm welcome in the Community Centre from 4.00pm.

Along with music & chat, it’s also time for the school children of our three Primary Schools to get creative as we run an Art & Poetry Competition in conjunction with the hosting of the Cups. The Theme for both competitions is Limerick Hurling \ Ladies Football!

Schools should have been notified of the competitions while there is also a competition box in Eurospar to return all entries. Closing date is this Thursday (November 8th) at 5.00pm.

A selection of entries will be displayed in the Community Centre and the Winners will be announced by our Limerick representatives on Sunday, best of luck to all!

There will be plenty of opportunity for you to have your photo taken with both cups, all you have to do is bring your camera!

Please note that all Children must be accompanied by an Adult\Parent\Guardian at all times.

U21 Football

Our U21 Footballers have made a reasonable start in Group 1 of the U21 Football Championship. In the opening game they easily accounted for Ballysteen on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-05 in Mick Neville Park. Four days later (November 3rd) they were back in action where unfortunately we went down to Monaleen by a solitary point on a scoreline of 1-08 to 1-07 in Adare. At the moment they sit in 2nd position in the group standings with two games remaining. They are back in action this Saturday (November 10th) at 2.00pm in Askeaton when Adare will provide the opposition. Best of luck to all the players and management.
