Long serving Roscommon forward Cathal Cregg admits that their goal is the same as every other year and that is to win the Connacht SFC title.

The Rossies begin their provincial campaign this Sunday when they take on Leitrim at Dr Hyde Park.

They are favourites to advance to the semi-final, but Cregg told the Roscommon Herald that the goal is the same as always and that is to lift the provincial crown.

“The target for Roscommon every year is to win a Connacht championship and it’s no different this year,” said Cregg.

“The path to do that this season will be very difficult. With Leitrim going well, Sunday’s game becomes a tough one.

“We’ll be taking it stage by stage. Whatever happen on Sunday, we’ll refocus again and go at it.”
