Laois boss John Sugrue has been handed a set-back with the news that dual star Cahir Healy has suffered a cruciate ligament injury for the second time in 18 months.

The 32-year-old suffered the injury in a recent challenge game against Kerry and while the hopes were that he’d only damaged the medial ligament of his knee, it has been since been confirmed that his 2019 campaign is over for the O’Moore men as he is set to spend the best part of a year on the sidelines during his rehabilitation.

It is understood that he will undergo surgery next month.
