Staunton stars again as Giants close in on first AFLW final

GWS Giants' Cora Staunton.

After her four-goal salvo against Richmond Tigers last week, 38-year-old Cora Staunton delivered another outstanding performance for GWS Giants in the Australian Football League Women's (AFLW) earlier today.

The former Mayo star showed off her gaelic football skills by kicking a goal from just inside the 50m arc and sent over a second as the Giants defeated hosts Adelaide Crows by 26-21 behind closed doors.

It was the Giants first AFLW win over the Crows in four years and leaves Staunton's side in with a great chance of making a maiden final appearance, with just two games remaining.

Ten months ago, Staunton suffered a double-leg break during an Aussie Rules match for UNSW-ES Bulldogs but the Carnacon forward has made an incredible comeback.
