Fulfilling a lifelong ambition, Galway's Sinead Burke finally got to play at Croke Park last weekend.

The Killannin defender has been an integral part of the county senior squad for 13 years now having joined the set-up in 2007 and her experience is vital for the Tribeswomen.

Selected for an All-Star award for the first time last year, on Sunday, Burke ended her long wait to line out at Croker as Galway ousted neighbours Mayo for a place in the All-Ireland SFC final.

Now, Burke can look forward to another first on September 15 when Galway will return to the Jones' Road venue to take on holders Dublin in the Brendan Martin Cup decider.
