There is great sadness across mid-Louth and beyond following the untimely passing of former Glyde Rangers ladies footballer Ava Kelly.
Ava, who passed away on Sunday following a short illness, is described by Glyde Rangers as “an amazing young lady with her whole future ahead”. Alongside her sister Hannah, Ava was one of the stars of the Tallanstown club’s intermediate championship team in 2017. In 2014, at the club's inaugural awards night, she was named as their Most Valuable U14 Player.
Louth ladies GAA, Glyde Rangers and a host of other clubs in the Wee County took to social media to express their sincere condolences to Ava’s heartbroken family.
Glyde wrote: “We have no words to describe our sorrow over the loss of our beloved Ava. She truly was an amazing young lady with her whole future ahead.
“We offer our deepest condolences to Niall, Audrey, Hannah and Dan and all their extended family.
“Heaven has gained the truly brightest and bubbliest of angels and we will miss her always.
“Rest in peace Ava.”
TweetOn behalf of Louth Ladies LGFA I wish to express our sincere condolences to the Kelly Family and the Glyde Rangers club on the untimely passing of Ava Kelly.
