Tommy Walsh says Limerick’s hurlers have been brilliant under John Kiely.

The Treaty County stormed to All-Ireland glory in 2018 and captured both the Munster SHC and national league titles last year before Kilkenny pipped them to a place in the All-Ireland final.

“They gave Kilkenny too much of a lead and couldn’t get back,” Cats legend Walsh told The Irish Daily Star.

“We have to take our hats off to Limerick. Whether it is a Munster league match, a national league match, a championship game or an All-Ireland, every match is an All-Ireland to them.

“It had been since John Kiely took over. The first year was quiet, but since then they have been brilliant.”
