Kilkenny must prepare for an All-Ireland SHC quarterfinal and that is the only focus on their manager Brian Cody’s mind.

The long serving manager was not in the mood to wallow in self pit following the Leinster SHC final defeat to Wexford last Sunday.

Instead, his attention turned to the quarterfinal meeting between either Cork or Westmeath who meet in Mullingar this Sunday.

“It was a Leinster final and we’d love to win a Leinster final, but we are left in a quarterfinal of the championship. That’s the most important thing really,” Cody told the Wexford People.

He added: “The players worked very, very hard, played with determination right through, played some great hurling. They never stopped giving it everything, they kept going.”
