Galway manager Michéal Donoghue is confident that his charges can step to the level that will face them in the form of Kilkenny in Sunday’s Leinster SHC clash.

The Tribesmen haven’t been at their best in this campaign so far as they scrapped over Carlow and drew with Wexford despite leading by seven points entering the final third of the match.

They now head to Nowlan Park to meet an in-form Kilkenny side who welcome back a number of players from injury.

Galway spent last weekend at a training camp in Carton House and Donoghue told the Connacht Tribune that he has no doubt that they will improve.

“It’s a massive challenge, but I am convinced we are going to get better as the campaign goes on,” stressed Donoghue.

“We had a good training camp over the weekend and the players know the responsibilities on their shoulders. We still have everything to play for and we are looking forward to testing ourselves.”
