Kilkenny are dealt a blow as Walter Walsh has been ruled out of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash with Limerick at Semple Stadium.

The Tullogher-Rosbercon powerhouse is absent from Brian Cody's 26-man match-day squad after a groin injury forced him to leave the field after just 17 minutes of last weekend's 3-15 to 1-28 Leinster final replay defeat at the hands of Galway in Thurles.

Cody has made two attacking changes, one enforced, for what is his side's third championship game in as many weeks with Colin Fennelly replacing the injured Walsh and Martin Keoghan being preferred to John Donnelly.

Kilkenny (All-Ireland SHC v Limerick): Eoin Murphy; Paul Murphy, Padraig Walsh, Paddy Deegan; Joey Holden, Cillian Buckley, Enda Morrissey; Conor Fogarty, James Maher; Martin Keoghan, TJ Reid, Richie Leahy; Billy Ryan, Colin Fennelly, Ger Aylward.

Subs: Darren Brennan, Conor Delaney, Robert Lennon, Jason Cleere, Conor Browne, Richie Hogan, Liam Blanchfield, Luke Scanlon, John Donnelly, Bill Sheehan, Pat Lyng.
