Kilkenny are set to welcome the return of former Hurler of the Year Richie Hogan for Sunday's Leinster SHC round robin clash against Galway.

Hogan was sidelined for the entire National League campaign, but speculation has increased that he will be part of the squad for the clash against the defending All-Ireland champions.

Last weekend, Hogan lined out in an in-house game involving players that didn't start against Offaly and the county under-21 side.

Reports have circulated from that game stating that Hogan was the stand out performer on the evening and is ready for a return to the squad.

Others to impress were Colin Fennelly and Jason Cleere which will have pleased Brian Cody who has injury concerns over Walter Walsh, Conor Fogarty, Lester Ryan, Luke Scanlon and Enda Morrissey ahead of their clash against Galway.
